We are proud to share this incredible impact and data overview from one of our first grantees, Elevated Minds.

Elevated Minds CIC is an award-winning coaching and personal development organisation founded in 2019 as a response to the growing number of Black Heritage students being excluded from school and society. Based on over 35 combined years of experience, the co-founders uniquely placed themselves in the marketplace by combining professional-level life and mindset coaching with education.

We envision a world where young people and their families are equipped and empowered to know who they are, identify their purpose, and raise their aspirations, thereby closing the gap between potential and performance. We believe in the power of coaching and personal development and use both to help young people improve their emotional intelligence, which has a direct impact on their attainment in education and their aspirations.

What do we offer?

We work with vulnerable children and young people and gifted and talented children and young people in a group or 1:1 setting. We also have programmes specifically designed for parents, teaching staff, and other professionals.

We partner with corporate and community organisations, educational institutions, social care, and the police, to support them in working with young people and families. We require our partners to be invested in innovation, creativity, and the power of a holistic approach to support, in order to achieve maximum and long lasting impact.

Our engagement and impact

Since 2019, Elevated Minds has directly impacted 2,630 young people, and 415 professionals across the UK, through programmes, workshops, and coaching.

When we take into consideration indirect impact through talks and events, and well as impact on participant family members, we understand that Elevated Minds’ has had a far wider and larger reach than the above numbers suggest.

Our impact data analysis tells us that:

  • 81% participants have a clearer and more positive sense of self
  • 80% participants have more positive beliefs about the future
  • 75% participants improved their emotional intelligence
  • 80% students reported they have more self-confidence
  • 73% participants have developed healthier habits
  • Through our Elevated Aspirations Police Insight programme, participants reported a 25% increase in trust in the police service

All of which leads to:

  • Improved school grades
  • Progression into higher education
  • Career progression and career confidence for professionals
  • Clear career aspirations
  • Better relationships
  • More active community involvement
  • Participants become Elevated Minds Ambassadors and grow the cycle and impact of engagement
  • Increased trust in police from young people
  • Increased trust in young people from officers
  • Improved relationships between the police and the communities they serve

2024 Summary

For Elevated Minds, 2024 held exponential growth for the organisation. We worked with 1,785 young people, and 255 professionals, expanded our reach nationally, grew our curriculum, partnered with new institutions, and held four successful large events.

Below are some highlights:

  • In partnership with NPCC, the Elevated Minds team traveled the country to speak with 800 young people of Black heritage across 7 cities, to gain their insights and perspectives on the Police Race Action Plan. This was followed by the completion of an indepth and highly insightful evaluation report.
  • We successfully piloted our new programme Empower X. As a direct response to the VAWG crisis, this programme equips, empowers and educates girls and young women to experience increased mental and physical safety.
  • We gained new institutional partners – Canterbury Christ Church University, and the British Transport Police. New programmes at these institutions engage and empower Black heritage students and officers respectively to step into their potential.
  • Elevated Minds’ talent show London’s got Talent was platformed at London-wide festival Summer by the River.
  • Our flagship IDENTITY Project was delivered in 5 schools across Southwark
  • We partnered with The Rise School for neurodivergent children, and have delivered two series of Anti-Bullying workshops, alongside weekly 1:1 coaching.
  • Our Youth Ambassadors delivered training to 117 new police recruits through their Cultural Awareness Training workshops.
  • The Elevated Minds’ London team moved into a new office which provides us space to develop Inspiring Minds – where we host workshops and invite inspiring speakers and professionals, providing experience and inspiration to 70+ young people who attend weekly.
