One of our past grantees, ADHD Babes, has had a transformative year – winning awards, expanding their reach, and strengthening support for Black women and non-binary people with ADHD.

ADHD Babes was honoured with multiple awards this year, recognising their pioneering work in neurodiversity advocacy:

  • Nominee: Stereotype Buster Award – Genius Within Awards

These accolades highlight their commitment to challenging stereotypes, raising awareness, and building a supportive community.

πŸ—£οΈ Raising Awareness & Driving Change

ADHD Babes has been an unwavering voice for intersectional neurodiversity advocacy. This year, they shared their expertise at:

  • Black History Month Panels at Wandsworth Stand Up & University of Hertfordshire
  • International Women’s Day Panel with IPG Mediabrands
  • University of Exeter – Exploring race, gender, disability & education
  • Black Funding Network Summer Mixer – Connecting with changemakers

Their presence at these events has helped shift conversations around neurodiversity and disability justice in Black communities.

πŸ’œ Expanding Community Support & Resources

ADHD Babes continues to provide essential spaces for connection, learning, and advocacy. This year, they:

  • Hosted 1 to 4 events per week, with over 1,443 sign-ups
  • Relaunched their U.S. support group
  • Grew their membership from 180 to 275
  • Helped 23 members receive an ADHD diagnosis

Through these initiatives, they ensure Black neurodivergent individuals have access to the support they deserve.

🀝 Strengthening Partnerships & Launching New Programs

ADHD Babes expanded their impact through new initiatives:

  • Emergency Aid Fund – Providing Β£500 grants to those in need
  • Community House Visits – Supporting members in their homes
  • New Advocacy Services – Assisting members in accessing healthcare & workplace accommodations

They also formed key partnerships with:

  • Neuromancers – Free photoshoot days for members
  • Sip & Sculpt – Creative workshops for neurodivergent individuals
  • Inflow – Addressing workplace challenges for neurodivergent professionals
