On 24th April, from 5:15 pm to 9 pm, we invite you to our Spring Funder – an inclusive evening dedicated to impactful change. As part of our fifth year and eighth Funder, this event brings together professionals, business owners, and community leaders with a shared vision: to reshape support for underrepresented communities.
Today, we shine the spotlight on Inside Out Well-being, a trailblazer in culturally-informed mental health care, who are one of the three organisations presenting on the night.
A New Paradigm in Mental Health Support
Founded in 2017, Inside Out Well-being is a not-for-profit social enterprise committed to transforming mental health support for Black and ethnic minority communities in the UK. With a focus on trauma-sensitive and culturally-informed services, they are breaking down long-standing barriers in mental health care, ensuring that everyone has access to the support they need to thrive. Their mission is clear: to integrate culture and identity into every aspect of care, creating a safe and inclusive space for healing.
Tailored Services for Real Impact
Inside Out Well-being delivers an array of services—from community events and workshops to one-on-one coaching sessions and specialised training programmes. Their dedicated team of trauma-informed professionals, including cognitive behavioural therapists and clinical psychologists, work tirelessly to empower individuals facing the dual challenges of mental health struggles and socio-economic adversity. By addressing the unique needs of young adults in areas like Brixton and Lambeth, they are providing crucial tools to improve emotional wellbeing, increase employability, and foster resilience.
The Inside Out Well-being Project
The Inside Out Well-being Project is at the heart of their mission. Targeting young adults aged 18–30 from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds, this project offers:
- Group Sessions & Structured Programmes: Interactive open days and six-month courses that explore topics such as racial trauma, coping strategies, and life skills.
- Bespoke One-on-One Coaching: Personalised support to address individual challenges, boost self-esteem, and develop practical strategies for overcoming systemic barriers.
- Community Outreach and Engagement: Collaborative initiatives with local organisations and schools to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and connect with those who need help the most.
Each of these components is designed to break the cycle of mental health challenges and economic hardship, creating a ripple effect that extends well beyond individual lives to benefit entire communities.
Why Your Involvement Matters
Your participation at the Spring Funder is not just a financial contribution—it’s a commitment to a future where mental health support is inclusive, accessible, and culturally sensitive. By supporting Inside Out Well-being, you help bridge the gap for those who have long been underserved by traditional mental health services. This is your chance to be part of a movement that champions diversity, addresses systemic challenges, and empowers young adults to build healthier, more resilient futures.
